Frederick Arment is a full-time writer who winters off the coast of
Florida in the sailboat Serenata and summers with his family
in the village of Yellow Springs, Ohio. After a successful career
in technical, scientific, and marketing writing, Arment enjoys and
appreciates the freedom to research the background for his indepth
novels, including the detailed study of physics required for his latest
book, Backbeat: A Novel of Physics.
Arment
holds a bachelor's degree from Wright State University in history education
and a masters of humanities with emphasis on the French and American Enlightenment
periods. His post-graduate work and study has focused on the integrated
disciplines of philosophy, theology, and physics.
As
an adjunct professor, Arment taught marketing in the MBA program
at Wright State University and undergraduate survey courses at Wilberforce
College. At the beginning of his career, he taught history and economics
at public, private, and state secondary schools. He was a board
member for the Antioch Writers’ Workshop. He is a founding board
member of the Dayton International Peace Museum.
As
a former book editor, author of the novel Synthesis, a technical
and science writer for twenty-five years, and a specialist in Enlightenment
philosophy, he has a unique background for giving Backbeat: A Novel
of Physics its sophisticated blend of science and literature.
